Origin and manufacture
“Made in France”, “French brand”, “inspired fragrance”: three different things. Here is how to tell them apart.
Made in France
A fragrance made in France is produced on French soil. France has a recognised perfumery tradition, particularly around Grasse. It is a manufacturing fact, not a quality label in itself.
French brand
A French brand is a brand of French origin whose production may take place elsewhere. The name and identity are French without the bottle necessarily being made in France.
What we display
Where a product's country of manufacture is known to us, it appears on its page. Where it is not, nothing is shown: we do not fill a gap in the record with a guess.
Designer, niche, inspired
Designer fragrances are created by fashion and luxury brands. Niche fragrances come from independent houses, in shorter runs and with more creative freedom. An inspired fragrance evokes a known olfactory direction without taking its name or its bottle: it is never presented as the original.
And Maison Osmèryl?
Maison Osmèryl selects and distributes. It does not manufacture the fragrances of the brands it offers.
